Song & Drama Unit

The Song & Dram Unit is responsible for the promotion of performing arts particularly the folk songs, music, dances & drama. In order to take forward this mission in promotion and Development of performing arts, this unit has bee organizing several programmes within and outside the state in collaboration with Eastern Zonal Culture Centre (EZCC), Kolkata, North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, Sangeet Natak Akademi, Guwhati & Delhi, and various other Governmental & Non-Governmental Organizations/ Associations 

As a member of Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC), Kolkata, and North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, the unit has given several performances outside the state under National Cultural Exchange Programmes. The unit also has been empanelled with Indian Council of Cultural Relation for programs abroad.

1. Guru Shishya Parampara Scheme 

2. Umang Programme – Emphasising differently abled children from various organizations

3. Sikkim Utsav at Kolkata – to showcase and exchange the Sikkimese Culture & traditions, food habit and artifact to the other parts of the Country.

4. Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat – to showcase the Cultural Diversity of India

5. Traditional Instruments making workshop

6. Literary Festival – Poets meets from the different parts of the country, and 

7. Many other programmes as and when required

Besides the above, the Unit is responsible to carry out the programme under Sangeet Natak Akademi and Indian Council for Cultural Research
